Some images have been processed from Christmas (Midnight Mass), and from January 8th. With regrets these are coming later than usual.
Select photos from each are embedded here. Follow the links provided to see the full collection from each day.
Fr. Aidan Logan, O.C.s.o., was the celebrant for the Solemn High Mass in the Extraordinary Form at Midnight on Christmas. Fr. Perrone was directing the choir and orchestra. The church was beautifully decorated by volunteers who worked for the better part of a day.
The music for this Christmas season was Messe de Minuit by Marc-Antoine Charpentier. Below is the harpsichord played by Gerrie Ball. You can hear more of Gerrie’s finger work when he goes up against Fr. Perrone in “‘Dualing’ Pianos”.
After the Midnight Mass, the priests, including Fr. Perrone celebrated private Masses (this was around 2:00 a.m.)
Below are a few images from January 8th. Fr. Rob Johansen from the Diocese of Kalamazoo visited Assumption Grotto and was the celebrant for the Solemn High Mass. Once again, Fr. Perrone was directing the choir and orchestra.
